Summer Camp Info
This is a “hands on” art camp. Students are expected to participate in all activities, help and encourage others, and keep themselves occupied in a positive way if they complete their project before other campers (alternate projects will be available). Some projects may not be of interest to all students, but we do expect each student to participate in all the projects. We aim to provide a wide variety of projects to expose them to various art techniques.
Each student is expected to keep their work area tidy and clean up after each project.
Students are expected to obey all instructions given by the instructors. If a student refuses to comply, their parent will be called to pick them up, but will be allowed to return the next day. A second offense will result in the permanent removal of the student.
The studio has a lot of breakable items so rowdy behavior will not be tolerated. Anything broken due to carelessness will be charged to the student. We do realize that accidents happen, so no penalty will be assessed for genuine accidents.
We will do our best to finish on time each day but the time to finish projects may vary by student, so be prepared to wait a few minutes if they are not finished with their project.
Some projects will need to be fired in the kiln after the week is complete and will need to be picked up at the studio the following week.
This is art, and sometimes it gets messy. Aprons will be provided, but we also recommend students wear old clothes in case they get paint on them (glaze will wash out, paint does not once dry).
A Little Bit of Art will take all reasonable precautions to avoid injury, and while the art projects being done are generally safe, the students will be working with glass and sharp tools. Parent and child agree to not hold A Little Bit of Art or its teachers liable in the unlikely event that an injury occurs.
We look forward to a fun and rewarding time!
Registration is fully refundable if A Little Bit of Art needs to move or cancel summer camp due to a COVID-19 related issue. If you need to cancel your registration, your payment less $50 will be refunded if we are notified in writing one week prior to the start of camp. Please provide written notice by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If notice is given less than 7 days prior to camp start, a studio credit will be given less $50.
Health and COVID-19:
We trust parents to do a daily health check with your child. Anyone suspected to have or who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 should remain isolated at home until at least 10 days after symptoms onset AND at least 72 hours after symptoms resolution (absence of fever without the use of fever-reducing medication and improvement in respiratory symptoms), whichever is longer.
Hand washing/sanitizing procedures:
We will be taking hand washing/sanitizing breaks throughout the day. These breaks will include (but not limited to):
1. Upon arrival
2. Before and after break time
3. Before dismissal
4. After sneezing or coughing
We will be limiting the number of campers and sitting campers apart from each other to provide distanced assigned seating for our campers. Students will keep the same seat each day of camp, reducing the spread of germs from workspace to workspace.
Campers will receive a set of studio supplies that have been sanitized at the beginning of camp that will be theirs for the duration of camp. Communal supplies like paint will be handled and distributed by staff and wiped after use.
We will not be requiring face masks to be worn during art camp. In order to instruct our campers most effectively, our instructors will not be wearing face masks. If you prefer that your child wear a face mask during camp, we will certainly honor that request. Please note that we are happy to encourage your child to continue to wear their face mask during camp hours, but we cannot be held responsible if they consistently want to take it off. We are happy to have a conversation with you and support you the best we can. We are all in this together!
Daily cleaning procedures:
At the conclusion of camp each day, we will preform a studio disinfecting routine that includes:
1. Disinfecting all surfaces (tables, countertops, chairs)
2. Disinfecting all reusable art supplies
3. Disinfecting all high touch surfaces
I understand that photos and/or video may be taken during our workshops to use in marketing/advertising efforts.
